Stainless steel twisted shackles are based on a D-shackle, with a 90-degree twist from one end of the shackle to the other.

Sometimes the two parts you are joining together do not align properly to be joined with a regular D-shackle.

For example, the 90-degree twisted shackle is useful for attaching sail clews or other areas where alignment is otherwise compromised without an additional shackle or link.

Choose from our stainless steel twisted shackles ranging from M5 to M10 in size.  The size refers to the diameter of the shackle pin.  For example and M6 shackle has a 6mm diameter pin with an M6 thread. 

Tighten or loosen the shackle pin with pliers or our handy shackle key, which you can keep on your keyring.

Choose the size of twisted shackle for your particular need, please check our sizing table which gives the jaw opening and also the length dimension of the shackle.  Alternatively, for other special purposes we have the long-shackle, wide-shackle or bow shackle.

The manufacturer's stated breaking loads for each size of bow shackle are shown below.  These are for ideal straight-line loading.

• M5   size:  breaking load 1000kg
• M6   size:  breaking load 1500kg
• M8   size:  breaking load 3000kg
• M10 size:  breaking load 4300kg
