8-blade neoprene impeller kit for Jabsco raw water pumps as fitted to Volvo Penta D6 diesel engines, Mercruiser D4.2L diesel stern drives and Caterpillar marine diesels. 12-spline drive, 16mm shaft. Supplied complete with gasket and cap.

This is a mid-size impeller by marine diesel standards — 65.2mm OD, 75.65mm length — but sits in a pump that's working hard on engines in the 90–180hp bracket. The spline drive interface is worth confirming before ordering: impellers of similar external dimensions but different shaft types are not interchangeable, and this one is specifically a 12-spline fit.

As with all flexible impellers, annual replacement is the standard recommendation. Neoprene blades fatigue progressively and can fail without obvious warning, shedding blade fragments into the cooling circuit which then need to be traced and cleared downstream. Replacing on schedule is considerably less work than dealing with the consequences of a failure.

Note: this impeller covers the same Jabsco 17018-0001 base specification as SM-2205 in this range. SM-2190 is supplied as a complete kit including gasket and cap; SM-2205 is the impeller only. Check which you need before ordering.
