8-blade nitrile impeller for Jabsco and Johnson flexible impeller pumps where oil or fuel contamination of the pumped fluid cannot be ruled out. Spline drive, 16mm shaft. Supplied with gasket and cap.

This is the nitrile (oil-resistant) version. The physical dimensions are identical to SM-2214 (Osculati 16.194.06, CEF 106) in neoprene — same 65mm OD, 50.2mm length, 8 blades and spline drive — but the rubber compound is fundamentally different. Neoprene swells and degrades rapidly on contact with oil and fuel; nitrile is formulated specifically to resist hydrocarbon contamination. Fitting the wrong material is one of the most common causes of premature impeller failure.

Use SM-2199 (nitrile) when:

•    The pump is handling bilge water where oil contamination is likely
•    The pump is used for fuel transfer, oil transfer, or general-purpose fluid handling
•    The existing impeller has the suffix -0003 or -9003 on its Jabsco part number (nitrile-specific codes)
•    The existing Johnson impeller part number ends in -9 (e.g. 09-1028B-9)

Use SM-2214 (neoprene) when:

•    The pump is handling clean raw, fresh or salt water only
•    The application is engine raw water cooling with no risk of fuel or oil contamination

The Jabsco pump models that take this impeller are the 777-0003, 777-9003, 2300-9005 and 11860-0005 through 11860-0046 series — all nitrile-spec pumps used across a wide range of bilge, transfer and auxiliary duties.
