Designed and manufactured in New Zealand, the TruDesign Domed Skin Fittings are a superior composite thru-hull solution for use above or below the waterline. Both the body and nut are moulded from a glass-reinforced nylon composite, with high-modulus glass fibres delivering exceptional strength, stiffness and dimensional stability while significantly reducing weight compared to traditional metal fittings.

The classic domed head design makes for straightforward installation and offers a large sealing face, protecting end grain on timber hulls and providing a secure, leak-free connection. Unlike bronze, brass or DZR alternatives, this composite construction completely eliminates the corrosion and electrical bonding problems associated with metallic fittings, while remaining unaffected by diesel, petrol, household cleaners and antifouling coatings. The high-quality surface finish is fully paint-ready and accepts antifouling without discolouration, and the fitting performs reliably from -40°C to +110°C.

Certified by IMCI and Bureau Veritas to ISO 9093:2021, and compliant with ABYC H-27 (1" size requires a TruDesign Load Bearing Collar), these skin fittings are compatible with all hull types — aluminium, steel, wood and GRP — and pair directly with TruDesign Ball Valves for a fully certified seacock assembly.
Available in five BSP sizes: 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2".
