The tool features a pair of hooked steel arms that grip beneath the flange or lip of the component being removed, positioned via two adjustable thumbscrews that let the arms be widened or narrowed to suit different pump diameters. A central threaded spindle runs through the frame, turned using the T-bar handle at its base; winding the spindle draws the hooks upward evenly, applying steady, controlled force to draw the part free.
