12-blade neoprene impeller kit for the Johnson F5B raw water pump, as fitted to Yanmar diesel engines, classic Volvo Penta AQ and MD petrol and diesel series, and Kubota-based Phasor Marine diesel generators. Keyed drive, 5/8" shaft. Supplied complete with gasket, cap and shaft key.

The inclusion of the shaft key (CGT kit) distinguishes this listing from most others in the range — where the vast majority of impeller kits include only the impeller and perhaps a gasket, this one includes the drive key as a matter of course. Keys are easily lost or damaged during removal and having a replacement supplied with the impeller removes an otherwise irritating delay mid-service.

The Johnson F5B is the pump that connects these otherwise quite different applications. Classic Volvo Penta AQ-series stern drive engines from the AQ115 through to the AQ171 — a huge installed base of leisure craft from the 1960s through to the late 1980s — used this pump, as did the MD21 diesel and related AQD and BB series. Yanmar diesel engines referencing 145410-46090 or 124310-46090 use the same impeller via the same pump family, as do Kubota-engined Phasor Marine generator sets.
