In a marine environment, use of different metals (for example stainless steel fixings in an aluminium component) can result in galvanic corrosion.  This PTFE-based paste should be used in between the different metal parts, to reliably prevent galvanic corrosion.

The Tikal Tef-Gel also creates a watertight fit between components, and can be used as a seawater-resistant lubricant.
